Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev and First Vice President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Nyo Saw discussed cooperation in education, health care, tourism, helicopter manufacturing and in using railway equipment. The bilateral talks were held at the sidelines of the 11th Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, as the Russian Government press services reports.“Today, representatives of about 80 countries got together in the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University in Vladivostok. I hope that the meetings in the format of the Eastern Economic Forum will be useful for you. I also want to thank you and the Myanmar leadership for the support for the policy of the Russian Federation,” said Yury Trutnev at the meeting.First Vice President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Nyo Saw pointed out that the Far East may well be a successful platform of cooperation for the two countries.“Our government is planning to open a Consulate General of our country in Vladivostok,” he said.The parties also attached special importance to strengthening their humanitarian and cultural ties.Earlier, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation and Presidential Special Representative for International Cooperation in Transport Igor Levitin, noted that the countries of Southeast Asia, above all, could become Russia’s potential partners in the development of the Trans-Arctic Transport Corridor. In confirmation thereto Joint Russia-Thailand Commission on Bilateral Cooperation has discussed the development of economic cooperation and measures to increase trade between Russia and Thailand at its meeting.
