Over 300 million rubles will be allocated to the Rural Doctor and Rural Paramedic programs. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has signed a directive providing additional funding for these programs, according to the official website of the Russian Government.The funding will go to 18 regions where this support is most needed. They include the Primorye Territory, the Jewish Autonomous Region, and the Chukotka Autonomous Area.“This will improve the quality and accessibility of healthcare for residents of these areas,” Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.He also noted that the Government would continue to do everything necessary to ensure that people across the country have access to qualified and timely medical care.The measure will helpattract around500 specialists, including doctors, paramedics, and nurses, to rural areasand small towns. Under the Zemsky Doctor and ZemskyParamedic programs, specialists relocating to rural areas will receive a one-time payment ranging from 500,000 to 2 million rubles.Such measures are particularly important for remote and hard-to-reach areas, including the Arctic Zone and the Russian Far East. It was previously reported that the share of medical positions filled by doctors in Kamchatka Territory had exceeded 72 percent.
