Vladimir Putin approves list of instructions regarding the development of the Arctic and the Trans-Arctic Transport Corridor

Following a meeting with Government members on April 23, the President of Russia instructed the Government to permanently monitor the resolution of key issues regarding the comprehensive development of the Arctic Zone and the Trans-Arctic Transport Corridor.
The Government of the Russian Federation shall permanently monitor the resolution of key issues regarding the comprehensive development of the Arctic Zone and the Trans-Arctic Transport Corridor and the fulfilment of earlier instructions in this sphere at the Russian Government’s Coordination center under the guidance of the Russian Prime Minister.
For example, the President instructed the concerned officials to monitor the implementation of the Murmansk LNG project and construction of the Volkhov – Murmansk trunk gas pipeline which must be commissioned by 2030, to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the Murmansk regional power grid and to finance construction of the fifth and sixth Project 22220 multirole nuclear-powered icebreakers and a multi-purpose vessel for facilitating the nuclear technological cycle.
The Government shall also draft proposals regarding the composition of the fleet for conducting northern deliveries and to discuss the establishment of international consortiums for the development of seaports, logistic hubs, infrastructure components and other facilities of the Trans-Arctic Transport Corridor under the terms of mutually beneficial cooperation with friendly countries.
