The document was signed in Minsk as part of the second day of the work of the regional delegation led by Chukotka Governor Vladislav Kuznetsov. The signing ceremony was immediately followed by the first meeting of the cooperation development working group, where the parties discussed sectors for cooperation: industry, tourism, education, culture, and agriculture, according to the press service of the Chukotka Autonomous Region Government.
By 2030, Chukotka plans to allocate around three billion rubles to upgrade equipment in construction, housing and utilities, and agriculture. The region also traditionally operates a large fleet of Belarusian-made aircraft, and modernization of airfield infrastructure is planned in the near future.
During a visit to the Minsk Automobile Plant, the parties discussed prospects for supplying automotive equipment to Chukotka. An agreement was reached to explore the establishment of a service center in the region, which would ensure prompt maintenance of machinery in this remote area.
Discussions on equipment supplies continued at BelAZ, whose heavy-duty mining trucks and specialized machinery have long proven reliable in harsh Arctic conditions. These vehicles are widely used at Chukotka’s mining enterprises, including those involved in strategically important development projects.
A separate part of the visit focused on cultural and educational cooperation. Governor Vladislav Kuznetsov visited the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War in Minsk, which is one of the largest memorial complexes dedicated to preserving the memory of the Victory. Its exhibitions attract hundreds of thousands of visitors annually. The parties agreed that schoolchildren from Chukotka will be able to visit the museum as part of educational and patriotic programs.
