The new educational programs will be used at school and are intended to preserve the languages of the indigenous peoples. The textbooks are written by experts from the Kamchatka Institute for Educational Development, the Kamchatka Territory Government press service reports.

“This is a result of a large and meticulous work performed with the scientific and methodological support from federal specialists,” said Department Head Alexander Volkov.

He noted that federal work programs serve as the basis for developing school educational programs and help raising the quality of training. They also promote the region’s national identity.
In total, Russia has 40 newly developed federal work programs on the native and state languages of the country’s peoples.
