The latest teaching aids for the Itelmen and Koryak languages will be sent to schools in Kamchatka, while books in the Enets, Nenets and Evenki languages will be delivered to the libraries, educational institutions and museums of the Krasnoyarsk Territory’s northern districts, according to the official websites of these regions.An updated edition of the Itelmen primer for Kamchatka schoolchildren has a new cover and format, and includes new game tasks and exercises for speech and thinking development. Programs for Native (Koryak) Literary Readings and Native (Itelmen) Tongue for the first to fourth grades have been drafted and submitted for peer review.Three new editions in the minority languages of the Taimyr Peninsula and Evenkia have been published. The book titled Pizyku (Little Nest) by Svetlana Roslyakova includes poetry, songs, fairy tales and stories in the Evenki language, one of the rarest and most endangered languages in the world. The Tolango textbook of the Nenets language includes materials for first grade reading classes, and the Learning the Evenki Language textbook is designed for school and home studies.
