Nenets Autonomous Area to allocate 22 million rubles for tourism development
Nenets Autonomous Area has summed up the results of a grants contest for building tourist infrastructure, whereby eight projects will be given 22 million rubles, the region's administration reported.
“One of the projects consists in building a camping, the other seven in purchasing equipment: tents, stoves, sledges and many other things,” said Deputy Governor and Head of the Finance and Economy Department Sergey Mikhailov.
The state support is applied to create the relevant infrastructure and improve the region’s tourist attractiveness. The funds may be used to map out routes, purchase equipment, create year-round recreation facilities, create electronic guidebooks and accessible environment for persons with disabilities.
Applications are accepted from legal entities and individual entrepreneurs. The grant amount is to cover up to 70 percent of the costs: almost 3.5 million rubles are earmarked for the equipment and up to 4 million rubles for camping accommodation.
