Yakutia to acquire an industrial cluster

Prime Minister of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Kirill Bychkov and General Director of the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation, Nikolai Zapryagayev signed an agreement on creating the Aldan Industrial Cluster in Yakutia within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum-2025, the Press Service of the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy in the Far Eastern Federal District reports.

The cluster will include a uranium mining-and-metallurgical integrated works, a mining-and-metallurgical integrated works designed to produce hot briquetted iron, a mineral fertilizer plant based on the Seligdar apatite deposit, and a LNG, ammonia, and ammonia nitrate plant.

“The Aldan industrial cluster is an entire range of investment projects. Prospectively, it will yield much economic growth. The total project investment amounts to 535.3 billion rubles, and it is expected to create over 16,700 new jobs in the region,” Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev said.    

The Press Service added that plans for the project encompassed a comprehensive development of industrial infrastructure in Yakutia’s Aldansky District, including the construction of main gas and oil pipelines, a 220 kV ETL, as well as motor and rail roads with outlets to the BAM and the Trans-Siberian Railway.
