Far Eastern employers to get one-million-ruble refund for hiring specialists

Enterprises, organizations and self-employed businesspersons in the Kamchatka Territory are eligible for lumpsum subsidies, while hiring specialists; they are reimbursed for financing travel and accommodation expenses and housing costs of employees and their families, as per the press service of the regional government.

The program allows employers to hire specialists (who are lacking on the local labor market in the Far East) from other Russian territories. To join the program, employers should submit applications from February 16 through March 16, 2026.

“This unique opportunity makes it possible to solve the problem of workforce shortages, to hire specialists who are particularly wanted in the Far East by attracting skilled personnel from other parts of the country,” Minister of Labor and HR Potential Development of the Kamchatka Territory Igor Golovanov noted.

The Chukotka Autonomous Area that introduced this incentive in 2015 has hired 168 people since then, including 27 last year. To convince specialists to stay, the Population Employment Center reimburses them for 20 percent of housing costs; these sums can be deposited as down payments during mortgage plans.
