In the harsh climatic conditions of the Arctic, members of the Sever mobile special forces unit of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area Russian Guard Directorate in Novy Urengoy tested and improved their professional skills, according to the directorate's press service.

In course of the field exercises members of the Russian Guard met the standards for firearms training by conducting situational shooting exercises with standard weapons. The instructors paid particular attention to honing the coordination of the troops' actions in case of various operational situations.

During their training engineering service specialists polished the algorithms of conventional explosive ordnance search, identification and disposal, and the unit personnel perfected their tactical medicine skills, training in first aid and evacuation of a simulated casualty at low temperatures.

By the end of the field exercises all the tasks set were fulfilled completely and in observance of safety measures.
