Murmansk to host The Arctic: Territory of Dialogue forum from 2027 onwards
The relevant directive has been signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, according to the press service of Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev.
The International Arctic Forum, Arctic: Territory of Dialogue, is a key international platform for discussing the Arctic region’s socio-economic development, attracting investments, and fostering international cooperation.
“Murmansk is the starting point of the Northern Sea Route as well as an important strategic area for developing the Russian Arctic. This year, the city has successfully hosted the International Arctic Forum, with about 1,300 participants and journalists from 21 countries, and some 230 Russian and foreign business representatives from over 110 companies. We can see the growing interest in discussing the Arctic agenda. Our country seeks beneficial cooperation with all interested states and is open to international cooperation,” Yury Trutnev emphasized.
Murmansk Region Governor Andrei Chibis noted that holding this event on a permanent basis will help the region develop its infrastructure and expand the services sector.
“We will raise the level of the event and put even more effort into preparing it. Our plans include the work to develop the convention and exhibition infrastructure, improve preparation process, and expand the services and hospitality sector,” Governor Andrei Chibis stressed.
