Krasnoyarsk Territory launches digital platform for studying Ket nation’s language and culture

The Аӄта дасӄавет (Having a Good Talk) website offers an online Ket-Russian and Russian-Ket dictionary with 4,000 entries, as well as a library with over 200 books and articles, according to the Agency for the Development of Northern Territories and Supporting Indigenous Small-numbered Peoples in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

The platform features recordings of the Ket nation, materials for linguistic and cultural studies, as well as rare books and academic articles.

According to the 2020 Nationwide Population Census, there are 1,088 Kets in Russia, including 917 in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. The Ket language ranks among isolated languages and is the only representative of the special Yenisei group of the Paleo-Asiatic family.
