The postal stamp sheet features the rose of the winds and portraits of legendary polar explorers, including Semyon Dezhnev, Vitus Bering, Boris Vilkiktsky, Otto Schmidt, Ivan Papanin and Arthur Chilingarov. The stamps also show the icebreakers Taimyr and Lenin, the Mir-1 research submersible, as well as Arctic animals, according to the Russian Post press service.

In all, 19,000 stamps, as well as Day One envelopes and special cancelling postmarks for Moscow, St. Petersburg, Arkhangelsk and Murmansk, have been issued. Each stamp has a face value of 350 rubles.

St. Petersburg hosted an official cancelling ceremony, part of the 18th edition of the NEVA Exhibition 2025 (International Maritime Exhibition and Conference for Commercial Shipping, Shipbuilding, Offshore Energy, Ports, Inland Waterways, and Oceanography).
