Projects of indigenous small-numbered peoples in the Krasnoyarsk Territory to get financial support

Grants amounting to 28 million rubles will support 19 projects. The funds will be applied for processing wild plants, fish, game and venison, as well as for procuring ski skins, horns, antlers and fur-skins, building of procurement centers and processing workshops, reports the Agency for the Development of Northern Territories and Support for Indigenous Small Peoples of the region.

The projects implementation will make it possible to process over 80 tons of production received from traditional economic activities of indigenous peoples and employ more than 70 people.

In addition, the contest winners will introduce children to national sports and traditional crafts, teach building traditional dwellings, create family clubs in Evenkia and in Taimyr, develop ethnic choreography and introduce schoolchildren to folk culture.

The grant support for one project amounts to 400,000 to 8 million rubles under the state programme Preservation and Development of Traditional Way of Life and Economic Activity of Indigenous Small-Numbered Peoples in Krasnoyarsk Territory.
