A unique school opens in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area

Russia’s first Yamolod  (IAmYoung) School based on a unified mentoring and skills development model has been launched in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Area, the Region’s Press Service reports.

Its curriculum is oriented towards 6- to 11-year students. Classes will take place two or three times per week and consist of three parts: basics of a profession, practice, and an educational hour. Putatively, the four-year program will help teens to acquire professional skills and develop as personalities.

A key element of the program, the educational hour will include rules of the etiquette, communicational culture, digital literacy and security, ABC of finance, and learning to care for animals, self, and others.

Participants can access various educational programs, including game design, new media journalism, automobile engineering, remotely piloted aircraft systems, and project management.

Training will be conducted by youth center specialists, librarian teachers, and extended education professionals, who were sent to specialized courses by the Yamolod School.
