Tomsk to produce freeze-resistant accumulator batteries for the Arctic
A plant in Tomsk has launched the production of accumulator batteries for areas with extremely low temperatures, the local Investment and Industrial Policy Department’s Press Service reports.
The batteries will help to maintain productivity at temperatures from -40°C to lower. Their distinguishing features include brief charging periods, long service life, high electrochemical capacity, and in-built intellectual control systems that ensure communications, heating, protection and balancing of elements.
It is reported that these products are fit for use at Arctic expeditions, autonomous power supply systems, radio equipment, and climatic stations operating under stern northern conditions.
