Over 76,000 metric tons of various consignments were sent to 137 hard-to-reach towns and remote garrisons, according to the ministry’s press service.

In all, freight deliveries involved 63 sea-going and river-going vessels, 11 aircraft of the military transport aviation and 87 motor vehicles that performed over 250 runs, trips and voyages.

Additionally, efforts were made to eliminate environmental damage to the Arctic. Around 300 metric tons of scrap metal were collected on the Novaya Zemlya archipelago, and clean-up operations will continue throughout next year, the ministry added.
