The Afanasy Ivannikov sea minesweeper has arrived at its permanent base in the city of Polyarny following the completion of an inter-fleet passage, according to the press service of the Northern Fleet.

Afanasy Ivannikov has become the ninth mine countermeasure vessel of Project 12700 Alexandrite.

According to the Chief of Staff of the Northern Fleet, Vice Admiral Eduard Mikhailov, four more sea minesweepers of this project will join the unit in the near future: Polyarny, Dmitry Lysov, Semyon Agafonov, and Sergei Preminin.
