Russia and the United States are negotiating the prospects of joint natural gas liquefaction projects in the Arctic and Alaska, Vladimir Putin said during his meeting with young employees of nuclear industry enterprises in Sarov.“We are discussing with our US partners the possibility of working together in this area, both in the Arctic and Alaska. That said, nobody has the advanced technology that we do, which attracts our partners, including in the United States,” Vladimir Putin noted in his remarks. He added that the Arctic zone and the Northern Sea Route have immense potential and are developing rapidly.“Last year, we transported 38 million metric tons, which is a significant increase. Given climate change, there are reasons to believe that the scope of operations may increase drastically due to more active navigation,” said the President adding that there are plans to build more icebreakers in Russia.
