Trans-Arctic corridor included in Transport Sector Development Concept until 2035

Centers of science and technical competences will chart the corridor’s route, and 50 laboratories will develop new types of transport systems and new materials and technologies for transport construction projects. The relevant decision was made in accordance with the Concept for the Science and Technical Development of the National Transport Sector until 2035, as per the Government’s press service.

According to Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, one of the concept’s main goals is a conversion to a centralized model for managing sectoral research projects, so that scientists would be able to focus on highly complicated technological objectives.

“This will expedite the formation of promising markets, will facilitate the development of competitive services based on unconventional engineering solutions and will improve our citizens’ standards of living,” he noted.

The Transport Research Institute, due to be established within the framework of the Russian Transport University, will coordinate research and development projects

The new centers of competences and laboratories will help to increase the number of applied research projects, and this will launch new startups in the transport sphere.
