New overpass over Trans-Siberian Railway opens to traffic in Amur Region

A new overpass in the Amur Region will connect two districts of the urban settlement of Seryshevo, which had previously been separated by the Trans-Siberian Railway. The structure will also link local and regional highways with the federal road network, according to the regional government’s website.

The total length of the overpass and its access roads is nearly 3 kilometers, including 90 meters of artificial structures made from weather-resistant steel.

“The strategic objective is to ensure seamless logistics within the core transport network, particularly in the context of increasing motorization, higher traffic volumes, and growing population mobility. Our goal is to enable as many citizens as possible to benefit from high-quality roads and convenient routes that reduce travel times, connect cities and regions, and enhance road safety,” Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said.

Another overpass across the Trans-Siberian Railway is scheduled to put into operation in December in the urban settlement of Novobureisky, also in the Amur Region.
