A crossing dubbed “Star of the Ob” will alleviate congestion on the only route from Yugra to Yamal, easing traffic pressure on the Tyumen-Surgut-Salekhard and Perm-Khanty-Mansiysk-Surgut-Nizhnevartovsk-Tomsk transport corridors that form part of the Arctic-Asia logistics network, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area’s government press service reports.Designed for operation in a challenging northern environment, the bridge is 1.76 kilometers long, with its approach roads totaling 45 kilometers in length.According to the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area Governor Ruslan Kukharuk, construction was successfully completed ahead of schedule.“The new river crossing offers additional opportunities for economic growth in the region, for Arctic development and for the consolidation of ties between territories,” Mr Kukharuk added.
