Alexei Chekunkov: Far Eastern cities complete 20 percent of construction projects under master plans
In his report to President Vladimir Putin, Minister for the Development of Russia’s Far East and the Arctic, Alexei Chekunkov, said that almost 20 percent of undertakings included in the master plans for Russia’s Far Eastern Federal District and scheduled to be carried out until 2030 were completed.
“These master plans provide for creating 875 new sites, and 165 of them have been completed as of today, which amounts to almost 20 percent of the overall plan for this territory. The total funding as part of this effort is equal to 4.4 trillion rubles until 2030, including 1.7 trillion rubles from the federal budget, 500 billion rubles from regional budgets, and 2.2 trillion rubles from non-budgetary sources,” the minister pointed out.
Alexei Chekunkov went on to say that five national projects contain special sections devoted to funding these master plans, while federal agencies are expected to allocate at least 5 percent of the resources they have under their respective state programs for developing the Far Eastern territories.
In addition to this, master plans for Russia’s Far East and the Arctic will benefit from 100 billion rubles worth of treasury loans. This funding will go towards housing and utilities projects, transport infrastructure, and infrastructure for investment projects.
