Evenk river receives official name

The Dagachukan River, which flows through the northeastern part of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, has been officially recognized and added to the State Catalogue of Geographic Names of Russia, the press service of the Yenisei District of the Krasnoyarsk Territory administration reported.

The river’s name comes from the Evenki language and translates as “very close.”

According to the report, the registration was based on detailed cartographic materials provided by the Krasnoyarsk regional office of the Federal Service for State Registration, Cadaster and Cartography (Rosreestr). The river’s name will now appear officially in government documents, maps and reference books.
