Vladimir Putin: The Arctic: Present and Future Forum has brought together those committed to the development of the Arctic Region

In his greeting to the participants and guests of the 15th Chilingarov International Forum, Arctic: Present and Future, President of Russia Vladimir Putin notes that the event has brought together those who feel a personal responsibility for preserving the Arctic region’s unique natural environment. The corresponding telegram was published on the Kremlin website.

“Your current meeting has once again brought together officials, and representatives of scientific, expert, business and media circles – those who seek to contribute to the development of the Arctic region and who feel a personal responsibility for preserving its unique natural environment, as well as its rich historical and cultural heritage,” the message reads.

Vladimir Putin also highlighted the important work carried out by the Association of Polar Explorers interregional public organization. In his address, he emphasized the forum’s unifying role for government, science and businesses, praised the Association’s efforts in developing the Arctic and supporting the residents of the Far North, and expressed confidence that the forum’s decisions would be translated into real actions and initiatives.

The 15th Chilingarov International Forum, The Arctic: Present and Future, is taking place on December 9–10 in St. Petersburg.
