To enhance the effectiveness of the Russian maritime policy, the President has issued an Executive Order renaming the Council for Defending the National Interests of the Russian Federation in the Arctic as the Council for Defending the National Interests of the Russian Federation in the Arctic and Developing Maritime Transport Routes.

“With the aim of further enhancing the effectiveness of the conduct of the Russian Federation’s national maritime policy, I hereby decree that the Council for Defending the National Interests of the Russian Federation in the Arctic shall be renamed as the Council for Defending the National Interests of the Russian Federation in the Arctic and Developing Maritime Transport Routes,” says the document.
