In 2026, the federal budget will allocate 81 million and the republican budget will add another eight million rubles to support Karelia’s fishery and agribusiness sectors, according to the region’s official internet portal.

The funds will be applied to develop its pedigree livestock farming and purchase forage seeds for the Far North and equivalent territories, support milk production and processing as well as for agricultural insurance.

This measure is reported to raise the competitiveness of local producers and ensure a stable development of rural areas.
