Kamchatka Territory included completely in federal northern deliveries program

The entire territory has been included in the federal northern deliveries program, and this will make it possible to reduce the price of some construction materials, fuel and energy resources and other vital items, according to a news story on the territorial government’s website.

“Kamchatka is a special region boasting a unique nature and a severe climate; it is also located far away from central Russia. We have seen to it that the northern deliveries program would heed all these distinguishing features,” the territory’s Governor Vladimir Solodov noted.

According to Acting Prime Minister of the Kamchatka Territory, Yulia Morozova, the program’s earlier version had encompassed the Koryak Autonomous Area alone; this served to increase delivery costs to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. From now on, freight delivery distances between the region’s capital and other Russian territories are covered by various privileges, including subsidies and budgetary loans for purchasing specific goods.

Under the federal program, the Kamchatka Territory receives over 150 types of goods, including fuel, medications, construction materials, foodstuffs and industrial equipment.
