Arctic regions lead in the share of high performance jobs
According to a RIA Novosti study, the Yamal-Nenets, Chukotka, and Nenets Autonomous areas are ahead of other regions of Russia as to the share of high-performance jobs (HPJ).
Leading in this regard is the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area, where there are 929 HPJ per each one thousand employees. The figures for the Chukotka Autonomous Area and the Nenets Autonomous Area are 819 and 811 HPJ, respectively. With 535 HPJ, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area is among the top five performers (the fourth place in the ranking).
Mineral production with a high proportion of HPJ is the leading industry in these regions, something that bespeaks a clearly expressed industrial specialization of these constituent entities of the Russian Federation, experts say.
The top ten also includes the Arkhangelsk Region (470 HPJ, the 8th place), Yakutia (462 HPJ, the 9th place), and the Murmansk Region (429 HPJ, the 10th place).
