Almost 30,000 preferential loans granted in Yakutia under the Far Eastern and Arctic Mortgage program
Since early 2025, banks in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) have issued 2,241 loans worth 13.6 billion rubles under the Far Eastern and Arctic Mortgage program, including 433 loans worth 3.1 billion rubles for private housing construction.
“As of today, banks have granted 29,639 mortgage loans amounting to 154.3 billion rubles. Yakutia ranks second after the Primorye Territory in the Far Eastern Federal District in terms of the number of reduced-rate mortgages issued,” Minister of Construction of the Republic of Sakha Viktor Romanov said.
The preferential mortgage program, with a 2 percent annual interest rate, was launched on the instruction of President Vladimir Putin and allows people to purchase housing at a reduced price in regions in the Far Eastern Federal District and the Arctic until 2030.
Since 2025, secondary housing can be purchased under the Arctic mortgage program from legal entities or private entrepreneurs in certain populated localities. The authorities have also introduced special terms for the entire territory of the Magadan Region and Chukotka, where people can buy secondary housing.
