The agenda included items concerning the socio-economic development of the backbone communities in the Russian Arctic zone, infrastructure improvement in the restricted-access administrative territories, and expansion of the Affordable Rented Housing program to the Arctic area, reports the Government press-service.Master plans of 15 backbone communities provide for the renovation of the housing stock, development of the housing services and utilities infrastructure, transport, medical, education, sports and culture facilities for the period up to 2035. The required funding until 2035 totals 2.9 trillion rubles.According to Deputy Prime Minister and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev, the Government has allocated 30 billion rubles for the restricted-access administrative territories development program. It has been extended until 2030, as the President instructed.Moreover, the mechanism of providing rented housing to young specialists will be launched in the Arctic on January 1, 2026. The apartments built at the government expense will be rented out at below market rental prices thanks to subsidies from the federal and regional budgets. To this end, the integrates program Affordable Rented Housing in the Far Eastern Federal District and Russian Arctic Zone has been drafted.
