Stamp on Arctic and local indigenous peoples presented in Krasnoyarsk
The stamp and its margins depict representatives of the indigenous peoples of the Krasnoyarsk Territory: The Enets, Nenets, Dolgans, Selkups, Kets, Nganasans, Chulyms, and Evenks, wearing traditional ethnic clothes against an Arctic landscape. This was reported by the press service of the Agency for the Development of Northern Territories and Support of Indigenous Peoples of Krasnoyarsk Territory.
The new postage stamp was issued in a print run of 25,000 copies in two denominations: 33 and 76 rubles.
“People, their traditions and culture are the greatest treasure of the North, and we must preserve and pass it on. I am confident that this stamp will become an important symbol and will be in demand among philatelists and everyone interested in the Arctic,” Valery Semyonov, Krasnoyarsk Territory Deputy Governor, emphasized.
The postal stamp, designed by artist and designer I. Ulyanovsky, is the fourth release in the Arctic Tourism series.
