The frequency of food supply flights to Evenkia northen settlements has been increased by 1.5 times. Alternative ways of cargo supply by land are also being mapped out. These measures are intended to address the emerging food supply problems, as reported following the Krasnoyarsk Territory government meeting.
According to the head of the Agency for the Development of Northern Territories, Anton Narchuganov, 32 flights have been performed and over 130 tons of products have already been delivered by air. The schedule of supplies has also been adjusted: instead of the planned 30 flights for November, 47 must be made.
Moreover, reporting for entrepreneurs has been facilitated and the bidding time has been reduced to two days. These measures have expedited the supply of subsidized goods to trade outlets. The priority right to buy subsidized products have been given to pensioners and large families. Supplies have been stockpiled for schools, kindergartens, and hospitals, and separate food delivery schedules have been developed for these institutions.
Head of the Evenkia area Andrei Gayulsky noted that they had managed to stabilize the situation thanks to the developed and understandable delivery schedules. The residents are informed through social networks and in person; and the number of the outlets selling subsidized products will be increased.
Deputy Minister of Transport Yevgeny Yakub says that they use converted An-26 passenger aircrafts. They are capable of carrying up to four tons of cargo, should the weather permit. When possible, they also use the ATR-42 plane with a lifting capacity of four tons.
Following the Council of Ministers meeting, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, Alexei Medvedev, instructed to ensure that the residents of Evenkia are fully informed about the available social support measures and explore the possibility of using old timber roads as an alternative route for land-based cargo delivery.
“We will keep on holding the situation in Evenkia under strict control. Given the need for interdepartmental coordination, all heads of the territorial authorities should get directly involved in this work, promptly respond to any changes and provide for an uninterrupted supply for the territory,” underlined Medvedev.
