The anniversary exposition, Days of the Far East Regions in Moscow – 2026, has opened at the Memorial Museum of Cosmonautics. Without leaving Moscow, visitors to the exhibition were able to visit Yakutia, Kamchatka, and Chukotka, try their hand at professions of the future and get video postcards as a memento.
An excursion for the guests of honor, namely, First Deputy Minister for the Development of the Far East and Arctic Vitaly Altabayev and deputy of the Legislative Duma of the Khabarovsk Territory and General Director of Khabarovsk International Airport Yury Kondratchik, was conducted by students of the Timiryazev Academy Dmitry Andreyev and Olga Kirillova. In the summer they participated in the Professional Excursions special project and spent a week in Yakutia, working at the Sayuri agricultural complex.
“This year, Olga and I got the opportunity to go to the Republic of Sakha and to work for a week as specialists at a real production facility. The region where the sun rises is rich not only in natural beauty but also in opportunities for self-realization,” Dmitry Andreyev said.

The Museum of Cosmonautics was chosen as the venue for the exposition for a reason: the first signal from Yuri Gagarin was received in the Far East, lunar rovers were tested here, and observatories were built here as well. The Far East is home to the Vostochny Cosmodrome, which is used to launch next-generation launch vehicles.
The interactive zone Multiverse of Professions of the Far East was the first stop. Anyone could choose an industry and assemble a set of sticker packs, process a photograph and select suitable specialties with the help of artificial intelligence.
At the Discover the Far East booth, a surprise awaited the guests of honor. After answering a few questions, each of them received a video postcard offering a virtual journey to a Far Eastern region. The video could be saved to a phone and shared with friends.
Next was the Career in the Far East booth, where, after answering a few career guidance questions, a visitor could find out a matching profession and the salary level, and select a Far Eastern university to get trained in a profession of choice. A virtual assistant would gather all the important information and generate a personal QR code.
“The SMO zone: Heroes of the Far East” tells visitors about the people who defend the country and also about 24 branches of the Voin (Warrior) military-patriotic education center.
In the Walk the Trails of the Far East zone, visitors hovered above the map of the region. A light beam highlighted iconic places, such as Ivolginsky Datsan in Buryatia and Shantar Islands in the Khabarovsk Territory. Visitors had an opportunity to scan a route of choice and save it to their phones.
At the Hologram of Professions booth, visitors could see themselves in the role of a sought-after specialist: a mini-figure clad in professional gear with a guest’s face appeared in a glass cylinder, while the NeuroSveta chatbot told about promising universities, professions of the future, and support measures for those who relocate to the Far East.

This is the tenth time the exposition has served as a key platform for introducing young people from Moscow and the Moscow Region to opportunities for self-realization offered by the Far East. The unified outer-space style of the interior space emphasizes the key idea that the Far East is a starting point for ambitious people.
Vitaly Altabayev believes that all conditions are now being created for comfortable living and building a successful career for young people in the Far East.
We are putting in social and economic conditions. We are building enterprises and creating amenities. For young people this means supporting the housing sector and access to higher and secondary education. Much has already been accomplished, and work continues on a daily basis, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry for the Development of the Far East said.
A Far Eastern Internship that Changes Plans
The tour for the first guests of the exposition was guided by Dmitry Andreyev and Olga Kirillova for whom the internship at the Yakut Sayuri agricultural complex became more than practical training and made them think about relocating.
This is a sprawling greenhouse complex that is used to grow vegetables - cucumbers, tomatoes, and leafy greens, as well as a few blueberry bushes as an experiment - in the Arctic conditions. The 15 greenhouses spread over a vast area. There’s also a fourth-generation greenhouse that is operated using Japanese technologies. “I could move to Yakutsk to work specifically at this enterprise. I need to finish my studies, though, and I’m planning to pursue a master’s degree. I’ll think about it later,” Dmitry said.
Olga also thought about moving to the Far East, although the climate is holding her back for now.
“The internship was an incredible experience. We were warmly received, shown interesting sites, and in general the enterprise itself operates in an interesting way using different technologies. The people are great. We received a very warm welcome,” the student said.

According to Olga, exhibitions like this one did not exist when she went to school.
Schoolchildren can come here and decide on a future career which is a great opportunity for them, she said.
Any visitor can take advantage of these opportunities. The exhibition exposition will remain open on November 1-29, 2026.
Ten years: So Far, So Good
The dynamic installation, 10th Anniversary of the Days of the Far East Regions in Moscow, dedicated to the key achievements of the macroregion was the final destination. Guests could see where the Vostochny Cosmodrome and the Tiksi Polar Geocosmophysical Observatory are located nearby at the Globe of the Far East art object which is another reminder of the close connection between the Far East and outer space.
A separate part of the exposition includes exhibition items from the Khabarovsk Territory, Kamchatka, and Yakutia, as well as Chukotka, the Magadan Region, and the village of Uelen. The display cases contain household items and clothing, woven and embroidered products.
The tradition of presenting the potential and opportunities of the macroregion in the Russian capital was born in 2017 when Days of the Far East in Moscow were held for the first time. About 100,000 Moscow residents and guests have visited the project’s venues since. They have become acquainted with the distinctive features of Russia’s eastern regions, their traditions, culture, tourism opportunities and economic potential. The main thing is to see that the Far East is not a spot on the map, but a place where one can live, work, and dream.
