The Unified Maritime Operator (UMO) of the Northern Supply Haul has successfully completed its 2026 mission, delivering 266,000 tons of cargo to the Khabarovsk Territory, the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), and the Chukotka Autonomous Area.
More than 23,000 tons of cargo, including diesel fuel, coal, and containerized motor oil, were delivered to the Khabarovsk Territory by sea. Particular attention was paid to unloading coal onto unprepared beach in areas with limited transportation access.
“This is a highly complex operation: in such locations, there are no berthing facilities or guaranteed depths at all, which multiplies the risk and requires pinpoint precision,” the press service of the Rosatom State Corporation said in a statement.
In the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), the UMO secured the supply of 16,800 tons of diesel fuel. Despite heavy ice conditions along the Northern Sea Route, the ocean-going tanker arrived at the Arctic rivers in time to meet the regional river fleet.
“Maritime navigation is always a challenge: ice conditions, narrow windows for vessel passage, and tight deadlines. The results of the Northern Supply Haul by sea confirm that logistics for Arctic regions require coordinated work among all participants in the process,” emphasized Kirill Bychkov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
The Unified Maritime Operator delivered more than 226,000 tons of cargo to Chukotka. Thanks to cooperation with regional authorities, the risks associated with liquid fuel delivery were minimized, and planned deadlines were strictly met. In 2026, the UMO also transported coal to the region for the first time.
“Our task is not simply to ensure the delivery of cargo, but to do so as efficiently as possible for all the participants in the process. The key economic effect of the navigation season was the completion of the main deliveries before the freeze-up,” emphasized Alexander Lazarenko, General Director of Rosatom Arctic.
