A Northern Fleet detachment of warships, jointly with a task group responsible for protecting military facilities in the Arctic, conducted exercises to prevent the seizure of military infrastructure on the island of Alexandra Land, according to the Northern Fleet’s press office.
The exercises included drills in redeploying ground units, missile launches targeting a simulated enemy naval task group, and operations by mobile fire teams to counter unmanned aerial vehicles.
The exercises were conducted in harsh weather conditions, with snowfall and winds reaching speeds of up to 30 meters per second. However, they did not prevent military personnel from completing all assigned tasks, the report said.
