A new gas-fired boiler room which has started operating in the capital of the Kamchatka Territory will reduce the load on the city’s utility network and will heat up residential buildings more reliably, the press service of the territorial government reports.
With a rated capacity at 40 megawatt (35 giga-calories per hour) and an ample safety margin, the new boiler room will generate enough heat for the social facilities to be built in the future.
“Construction of new residential buildings is impossible without reliable heating. The commissioning of this boiler room is a crucial phase of our program to modernize the heating supply network in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky,” Kamchatka Territory Governor Vladimir Solodov stressed.
Environmentally friendly natural gas is the facility’s main fuel; it helps cut heat generation costs, compared to heating oil (mazut) or coal, and considerably reduces toxic emissions.
