Northern Fleet personnel conducted an exercise to practice clearing a seaport on the Taimyr Peninsula of simulated enemy forces, the Northern Fleet press service reported.
“Under the exercise scenario, the enemy seized the seaport of Dudinka. The sailors practiced landing an amphibious assault and unblocking the seaport from illegal armed groups,” the press release said.
During the exercise, a helicopter carrying a marine assault team took off from the patrol ship Ivan Papanin, and the marines cleared the area using unmanned aerial vehicles.
An amphibious landing involving armored vehicles was also conducted to eliminate simulated enemy patrols.
