A federal-level specially protected natural territory called Volcanoes of Kamchatka will be established in the region’s Yuzhno-Kamchatsky and Klyuchevskoi nature parks where several famous Kamchatka volcanoes (Klyuchevskoi, Mutnovsky and Gorely) are located. The Prime Minister of the Russian Federation has signed the relevant resolution.Raising the status of these parks to federal level will help protect the Kamchatka Territory’s nature complex in the context of the growing tourist flow, improve safety on tourist routes as well as ensure the development of infrastructure and logistics.
