Russia is ready to make the Trans-Arctic Transport Corridor an independent logistics route accessible to all countries, Russian Special Presidential Representative for International Cooperation in Transport Igor Levitin said at the 1st International Forum of Port Cities, “Ports of the Future: Integration, Sustainability, Growth.”“Today, we have outlined the project’s key objectives. The corridor must be accessible to anyone wishing to ship cargo. Current economic conditions make this possible,” Igor Levitin said.In his remarks, Igor Levitin recalled how Russia restructured its logistics system following the start of the special military operation. He noted that the model originally envisioned in the early 2000s had ultimately been successfully implemented.“It was not easy, and it came at a cost – we all understand that – but Russia managed to accomplish it. And I am not sure that every country would have been capable of doing the same,” he emphasized. The Special Presidential Representative also described the current situation in global logistics as unprecedented.“Today, maritime law has effectively ceased to function: ships can be seized, damaged, or blown up. Under these circumstances, I believe we need to join forces with countries that support Russia and understand that any nation could find itself in a similar situation,” he said, adding that new logistics hubs are emerging around the world and that the global logistics map is changing rapidly.
