Since 2024, an innovative project known as the Mobile Surgical Center has been operating in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). To date, the center’s specialists have performed approximately 2,600 operations, according to the press service of the regional government.
This year, the specialists have made 15 trips to 11 districts across Yakutia. They examined and consulted approximately 1,500 patients and performed 795 surgeries.
“The success of this initiative was made possible through national projects, under which many district hospitals were equipped with modern medical equipment that meets all standards for complex surgical procedures. The Mobile Surgical Center has transformed approaches to healthcare delivery, ensuring access to advanced technologies in the districts,” Yakutia’s Minister of Health Lena Afanasyeva noted.
The project is being implemented at the instruction of the Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Aisen Nikolayev. It aims to make high-tech medical care more accessible to residents of the region’s remote areas.
