In 2026, exports of products from the Nenets Autonomous Area increased by 620 percent, with fish and seafood making up the bulk of shipments. The regional government’s press service announced the figures following a meeting between Governor Irina Gekht and Russian Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut.“The Russian Ministry of Agriculture is ready to assist our enterprises in finding foreign partners and entering new markets,” the regional head emphasized.She also added that the region needs to attract specialized experts to develop reindeer husbandry.“We discussed the possibility of bringing in specialized experts and exchanging experience with other northern territories. This will help farms evaluate which animal husbandry and fattening technologies are suitable for our conditions and can boost production efficiency,” said Irina Gekht.
