The first transit voyage with Belarusian cargo departed from the Russian port of Ust-Luga for the port of Bayuquan in Northeast China. The press service of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom reported.The vessel is carrying 77,000 metric tons of cargo. It is scheduled to arrive at the Chinese port of Bayuquan on October 13.The vessel has already traversed the route from the Boris Vilkitsky Strait to Cape Dezhnev and has left the boundaries of the Northern Sea Route, setting course for its port of destination. The Arctic leg of the voyage was completed in nine days at an average speed of approximately 12 knots.“The bulk carrier has left the coverage area of the shipping management system coordinated by the Federal State Budgetary Institution ‘Northern Sea Route General Administration’ (NSR General Administration),” – explained Vladimir Arutyunyan, chief of the Maritime Operations Headquarters.Rosatom noted that the first voyage with Belarusian cargo to China continues a series of international shipments advancing the use of the NSR for transit transportation.
