The Legends of Khekhtsir year-round tourist trail opened in the Khabarovsk Territory ahead of World Tourism Day, the press service of the Governor and Government of the Khabarovsk Territory reports.The 3.8-kilometer route has been built as part of the Far Eastern Trails project and runs through a forest at the Khekhtsir ski resort. Along the way, visitors can see a centuries-old Siberian cedar, a stone waterfall and a reconstruction of a hunter’s dwelling. They can also learn about the origin of the mountain range’s name and discover local legends.The route also features photo spots and information signs about local birds, animals and plants. The trail ends at an observation deck offering panoramic views of Khabarovsk. On clear days, China is clearly visible from here. “This is an excellent sports facility designed for tourists. Here, people can learn about the local plant life. Wildlife is also within reach. The trail will help both local residents and visitors from across the Russian Far East to gain more knowledge about their country,” Khabarovsk Territory Governor Dmitry Demeshin said at the trail’s opening.The route is intended not only as an educational experience, but also as a health-oriented trail.“We have launched a website dedicated to trails in the Khabarovsk Territory. Visitors can explore the routes andwatchvideo guides on proper walking technique, warm-up exercises and assessing how they are feeling,” Khabarovsk Territory Tourism Minister Marina Yartseva said.
