Four of the 51 measures on the long-term infrastructure development plan of the Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky agglomeration have been implemented, 17 are under construction, 13 are at the design stage, and 17 are being planned. These figures have been reported by the press service of the Ministry for the Development of the Far East and Arctic after a meeting on the socio-economic development of the Kamchatka Territory chaired by Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev.Housing construction is gathering momentum in the region, where 366 apartments were built last year. Kamchatka Territory Governor Vladimir Solodov stated that the first 619 apartments will be completed under the Far Eastern Quarter program in 2026, and another 493 apartments are to be completed in 2027. Lease contracts for 883 apartments in five apartment blocks have been signed.“As many as 268 people, including participants in the special military operation, medical personnel, teachers, workers of culture and sports, as well as young and large families, have already moved in. Overall, our construction portfolio includes 21 investment projects with a total investment of 36.5 billion rubles,” the governor said.He added that the tourism sector has one of the highest growth rates in Kamchatka. In particular, 135 residents are working in the Kamchatka Advanced Special Economic Zone. The volume of announced investment totals 252.1 billion rubles, and 145.5 billion rubles of that sum have already been invested. There are plans to create 14,500 jobs, 10,300 of which have already been created.“We are working consistently to develop the hospitality infrastructure in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and across the region. Our targets are 10,000 accommodation units and a chain of hotels across the peninsula,” Vladimir Solodov stated.It was noted that 212 investment projects with a total investment of 501.6 billion rubles are being implemented in the region through government support mechanisms. To date, 233.5 billion rubles have been invested, 105 projects implemented, and over 14,000 jobs created.
