Director General of Roscosmos State Corporation, Dmitry Bakanov, presented a preliminary performance report on developing infrastructure at the Vostochny Cosmodrome to Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin. This year, considerable headway has been made in expanding the capacities of launch pads and developing the city of Tsiolkovsky, according to a statement released on Russian Government’s website.In addition to this, the construction of six boiler rooms has been completed. They will ensure that the city accomplishes its transition to natural gas. The facilities are currently being connected to gas distribution networks.Two residential buildings with 200 and 215 apartments have been completed and people have started moving into them. The effort to improve adjacent territory is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2027.Two launch pads are already operating: one for Angara heavy-lift launch vehicles and the other for medium-size rockets of the Soyuz-2 family. At the same time, work is underway to build the third launch pad for the Start-1M launch vehicle, which is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2027.This autumn, an advanced reusable manned transport spacecraft will be launched and tested in Russia’s Far East. Dmitry Bakanov stressed that manned missions remained a top priority for the space sector.“Competitive and sovereign access to outer space remains the core objective for our sector,” he pointed out.
