The Amur Region is now the country’s leader by the growth of the tourist flow, which reached a record high of 209,700 people for the region, as of the first half of 2026. This is 96 percent more than in the same period last year, as the regional government’s press service reports.The region is frequently visited by foreign guests: their number in Amur hotels have increased fivefold over the first seven months of the year. Tourists from China is the largest group visiting the Amur Region – they account for 98 percent of all foreign tourists. About 120,000 Chinese citizens visited the region this year.Residents from the neighbor regions – Yakutia, Primorye, Khabarovsk and Trans-Baikal territories are frequent guests in the Amur Region.The region is reported to pay much attention to children’s tourism as well: it has been running short trip programs for schoolchildren and families since 2025. One in seven schoolchildren in the Amur Region has already taken such trips. The program is expected to be expanded.As a result, tourists spent over five billion rubles in the Amur Region last year. Moreover, tax receipts from hotels and restaurants grew by 16 percent to reach 1.3 billion rubles.
