Participants in the Arctic Welding Technologies session will have the opportunity to view modern welding equipment, including robotic systems, designed for use in Arctic projects. The event will take place at the Emperor Peter I Technological College of the Lomonosov Northern (Arctic) Federal University in Arkhangelsk.
According to the press service of the Arkhangelsk Region Governor and Government, research teams developing new welding technologies and materials will present their work during the session, which runs from September 10 to 12.
“Operations in the Arctic region require a specialized approach due to low temperatures and a host of other complicating factors. This applies equally to welding technologies, which are constantly evolving. The Arkhangelsk Region is home to numerous large enterprises that use welding. Virtually every new order demands a fresh approach as materials and structural designs change, and quality requirements become more stringent,” noted Alexei Aksyonov, Minister of Science, Higher Education, and Scientific and Technological Development of the Arkhangelsk Region.
The Minister added that modern technologies are the product of research and development efforts and expressed confidence that the session would facilitate the rapid implementation of innovations in manufacturing.
