Currently, 177 entrepreneurs in the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Area hold Arctic zone resident status. They are implementing 197 projects with total investments of 63 billion rubles and creating 2,859 jobs, Governor Dmitry Artyukhov announced during a meeting with Alexei Chekunkov, Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic.The majority of these projects – 77 in total – are in the service and social sectors. Construction and development rank second with 46 projects, followed by 20 in logistics and transportation and 11 in tourism, the Governor noted.“All mechanisms of state support for the Arctic – subsidized mortgages, business incentives, and the implementation of master plans for our core cities – are creating a powerful, real impetus for comprehensive transformation in Yamal. We see how these decisions are expanding the services market, creating new jobs, and improving the quality of life for northerners,” said Dmitry Artyukhov.He added that master plans are being systematically implemented in core Arctic communities that serve as hubs for regional development. In Novy Urengoy and Noyabrsk, work continues on developing hard-to-recover reserves, advancing import-substitution technologies, creating industrial clusters, and attracting investment, while social infrastructure is also being updated.The master plan for the Salekhard-Labytnangi urban cluster focuses on tourism and logistics. The Obskoy Prichal industrial and logistics park in Labytnangi is expected to service Arctic and Northern Sea Route projects, with cargo turnover projected to quadruple by 2035.
