The 2026-2027 heating season has begun in 30 municipalities of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), including Yakutsk. Heat is supplied first to socialfacilities and then to residential buildings, according to the press service of the regional Government.
As Sergei Kirov, Deputy Minister of Housing and Utilities and Energy of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), noted, all 116 diesel power plants and backup power-generating systems are fully prepared to handle winter loads.
Heating networks are 94 percent ready, while water supply and sewerage networks are 91 percent ready. Of the region’s 1,154 boiler houses, 1,001 are ready for winter.
In the remaining areas of Yakutia, heating will be switched on by the end of the week as temperatures fall.
